Real Madrid may be willing to sell Karim Benzema to Arsenal, but the English side will need to up their bid significantly in order for the deal to go through, Express reveals.

The Spanish side wants to increase the price of their star striker due to the fact that they hope the revenue made from the sale can fund a move for either Liverpool’s Luis Suarez or Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

After winning the FA Cup at the weekend, Arsene Wenger will want to improve his squad to battle for the Premier League next season by making Benzema their top target.

The Gunners are believed to only be able to pay 30-million for the French star, who has a year remaining on his contract, but Madrid has admitted to find it hard to let him leave without a suitable replacement.

However, speculation suggests that Carlo Ancelotti will only allow the former Lyon star to leave to England if the club can guarantee the services of another big name striker as his replacement, preferably Suarez or Aguero.
