West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that the club are yet to strike a deal with Mo Diame to stay at the club this month, according to the Metro.

Arsenal are massively interested in the impressive Hammers midfield man and a £3.5million buy-out clause in his current contract is comfortably in the Gunners minds.

The former Wigan midfielder has been West Ham’s best player this season and his return from injury is a timely success for the East End as their current form is woeful.

The Hammers have offered Diame a new contract, upping his release clause to £7million, but the all action midfielder is not keen on signing the deal until the end of the transfer window just to see if Arsene Wenger comes calling.

Despite bringing in four new faces at Upton Park this month, Allardyce can’t afford to lose his main man as they are being dragged into a relegation scrap.
