Arsenal looks to continue their reputation of securing young talent as they plot a move for Rodrigo Caio after impressive the club’s chief scout, Steve Rowley at the Toulon tournament, Daily Mail reports.
The competition brings together the best under-20 players from around the world to represent their respective nations where Rodrigo was named Player of the Tournament.
Rowley advised the team’s staff to keep a close eye on the 20-year-old Brazilian wonder-kid, but has also informed the difficulties in obtaining a work permit in order to bring him over to England due to the fact that he hasn’t made his senior appearance yet.
The centre-back, who can also play further up in a defensive midfield role, is currently playing for Sao Paulo in Brazil and it is believed that Arsene Wenger is already making plans to bring him to the Emirates once the opportunity arises.
In addition to the succesful scouting of the young starlet, Rowley also advised Wenger to keep an eye on the tournament’s top scorer, Jean-Christophe Baheback, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain.
