With news of a lengthy injury to first choice striker Olivier Giroud, Arsenal are considering a shocking move to sign Danny Welbeck as his replacement, Express reports.
The 23-year-old English attacking is currently deemed not needed by Louis van Gaal at Manchester United and could be given a much more important role under Arsene Wenger.
He has both international as well as Champions League experience and still has time to develop, supporting the fact that should the Gunners acquire his services, he could become a top player in the future.
Should the attempt to lure Welbeck from United fail, Wenger is also considering to sign Queens Park Rangers front man Loic Remy in hopes of adding much needed fire-power to his squad.
The 64-year-old French boss only has Yaya Sanago and Joel Campbell, along with an injured Giroud, capable of playing as the main forward.
Interest in Welbeck isn’t only coming from the Emirates, as both Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be linked with the England international.
