Arsenal are a step closer to signing David Ospina from OGC Nice after the two clubs reached an agreement of £3.2 million for the goalkeeper, Daily Mail reports.
The Colombian shot-stopper is looking to provide some friendly competition with current Gunners number one Wojciech Szczesny after a fine display at the World Cup where his side reached the quarter-finals.
French Ligue 1 side Nice is said to have accepted the proposed offer from Arsene Wenger’s side after Ospina rejected an offer from La Liga club Valencia.
The move to take the keeper to the Emirates Stadium looks likely to be officially announced in the near future as Szczseny will now need to be on the top of his game to avoid being replaced by the incoming Colombia international.
The 25-year-old made 32 appearances for his side the previous season, conceding 27 goals and keeping a total of 15 clean sheets before showcasing his talents in Brazil.
