Arsenal are attempting to speed up contract negotiations with veteran midfielder Tomas Rosicky, after Bayern Munich declared an interest in signing him, according to the Daily Mirror.
Pep Guardiola’s side are keen on the 33-year-old, who would be available on a free transfer in the summer when his current deal with Arsene Wenger’s side expires.
But Wenger will look to rectify the situation by offering Rosicky a one year extension, after a series of impressive displays in the Gunners’ midfield.
The Czech has been a consistent performer for Arsenal since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2006 for £6.8 million.
Meanwhile, Wenger hopes to sign a contract extension of his own within the next two weeks.
The Gunners are also understood to have agreed terms on an extension for centre back and regular captain Per Mertesacker, who has been one of the standout players of the past 12 months.
However, full back Bacary Sagna is looking consistently unlikely to sign a new deal with the club.
Arsenal have offered a new two year deal, however Turkish giants Galatasary are ready to make a four year offer with a considerable pay rise.
