Reports in Italy suggest Arsenal are preparing a £17million summer bid for Paris St Germain midfielder Marco Veratti, writes the Metro.

The 21-year-old impressed against English opposition last week, as a part of the PSG side that beat Chelsea 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter final.

The midfielder has been a regular for the French champions this season, but is still yet to score in 50 appearances since signing in 2012, and reports suggest manager Laurent Blanc may be willing to cash in.

TuttoMercato reports that the Gunners are ready to make an offer of £17million in the summer to try and lure the talented youngster to north London.

Veratti is under contract until 2018, but PSG have a star-studded squad with a host of midfield options to cover, including Javier Pastore and January signing Yohan Cabaye.

The Gunners are desperate to add new signings in the summer after a Premier League campaign that looks set to end in disappointment.

Arsene Wenger’s side suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton yesterday, a result that leaves their position in the top four in serious doubt with just five games remaining.

i think we would be better of going for Griezmann before chelski get him, with on one wing Walcot on th other and Lukaku through the middle, one word awsome,we should then buy Richards(city)ceasar(QPR)i would lose wilsher-diarby-podalski-gibbs/monreal-vermalen and i would listen to any offers for ozil he will never be a team player.
