Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky is set to sign a new one year deal at the Emirates that will keep him at the club past the summer, as reported by Sky Sports.

Despite the big signing of Mesut Ozil and form of Aaron Ramsey, Rosicky has been an unsung hero for the Gunners this season and is now a regular in the talented midfield.

League leaders Arsenal are expected to strengthen this winter, but a midfielder will not be on that list despite the recent injuries to Ramsey and Theo Walcott.

Arsene Wenger has made keeping his current squad together a priority and so locking Rosicky into a new deal was key with the Czech Republic international’s current deal expiring in the summer.

“Tomas Rosicky will stay here at the end of the season,” Wenger said.

“He is a marvellous player and contributes well to the team.

“He is certainly a typical Arsenal player in the way that he is mobile, technically sound and team-orientated. So he is a fantastic football player.”
