Arsenal have made a £22million offer to Fiorentina for Juan Cuadrado, despite chasing Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, Express reports.
Juan Cuadrado was one of the stars in Colombia’s impressive World Cup campaign and is still high on Arsenal’s transfer hit-list, even if they secure the signature of another winger in Alexis Sanchez.
However reports suggest that Juventus have made a late bid in an attempt to hijack Sanchez’s move, which could explain the Gunners sudden offer for Cuadrado.
Earlier it was thought that Manchester United submitted a £30million bid in order to lure the Colombian star to Old Trafford, but the Spanish media have reported that Arsenal are the first to make a concrete offer at £22million.
Cuadrado not only had an outstanding World Cup, but the 26-year-old had an exceptional term with Fiorentina last season, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
Meanwhile Arsenal are extremely close in signing Newcastle right back Mathieu Debuchy, after the French international confirmed he will be playing for the Gunners next season.
