Arsenal have negotiated the terms of the potential move which would see Thomas Vermaelen join Manchester United by requesting that they include Nani in the deal, Daily Star reports.
The Gunners are believed to be more interested in acquiring the services of Nani rather than to receive the full £10 million from the sale of their club captain.
Arsene Wenger previously tried to sign the Portuguese international from rivals United and could use the ongoing Vermaelen talks to reach agreements on bringing him to the Emirates.
The winger only made 11 appearances last season and had very little impact as this might be time for him to find a challenge due to his inability to retain a first team slot.
Louis van Gaal is already known to be offloading a majority of the Red Devil players with the attacker very likely to lose his place in the squad should he decide to stay where he is.
With the Belgian defender nearing the end of his contract, Wenger will be looking forward to making something out of this switch or risk losing him for free next summer.
