Arsenal star Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is set to become England’s hope for the summer after recovering from a long term injury, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners are set to be without main man Theo Walcott for the rest of the season and so are now relying on the returning ‘Ox’ to take over the mantle.

Chamberlain played for the North London clubs under-21 side last week and is set to be in the squad against Aston Villa on Monday night.

England are hoping that the Ox makes a real impact at the Emirates in the second half of the season and manager Roy Hodgson has even written a letter to Arsene Wenger speaking of the former Southampton winger.

The likes of Andros Townsend, James Milner and Danny Welbeck are set to play on the wings for the England next summer in Brazil but Chamberlain has already scored and impressed on Brazilian turf and will be hoping to do the same again come the end of the season.
