Gareth Bale, Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has no plans to target Gareth Bale as the Gunners travel to White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Tottenham are currently four points clear of Wenger’s Arsenal in the league table and could severely dent the Gunners’ Champions League hopes with a victory.

Arsenal seem to be on their way out of the Champions League with a hefty 3-1 disadvantage to turn over against Bayern Munich and it seems they may struggle to qualify for next seasons competition, falling behind Spurs and Chelsea in the running.

Wenger has labelled the trip to White Hart Lane as a must-win game but the Frenchman revealed he has no plans to target Bale despite his glorious form of late.

The Welsh winger has dazzled the Premier League since the turn of the year and has at times won points on his own for Spurs but Wenger is more focussed on his players.

“We don’t plan for anybody,” Wenger told talkSPORT.

“This is a must-win game. It is down to results on the football pitch.

“Spurs always had great players. We try to win the game.”
