Ashley Cole has taken to Twitter to declare to Jose Mourinho, Roy Hodgson and anyone else who thinks he may be past his best, that he is not done yet, reports the Metro.

The Chelsea defender has recently lost his first team place under Mourinho, with Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta – a natural right back – taking his place at left full back in recent weeks.

And the 32-year-old – once regarded as the world’s best left back – is also no longer assured of his starting place at international level, with Everton’s Leighton Baines forcing his way into Roy Hodgson’s plans.

The drop down the pecking order for club and country have seen many declare Cole may well be past his best, and a possible January switch to the MLS has even been mentioned.

However the former Arsenal man left a defiant message for anyone who may be doubting him, via his Twitter account.

The Tweet was not without commercial consequence, as the man dubbed ‘Cashley’ by fans around the country included the hashtag ‘niketiempo’ in an attempt to advertise the boots he is currently wearing.

He will get the chance to remind Mourinho of his quality tonight, with the Chelsea boss confirming he is in line to start against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League tie, with the Blues already confirmed in the last 16.
