Paul Lambert could make a move to lure Nicklas Bendtner to Aston Villa with the former Arsenal striker currently a free agent, Mirror reports.
Rumours arose from Danish media that Lambert was considering to make a move for Bendtner ahead of the new campaign, with the player still deciding on a possible destination.
It is believed he may want to remain in the English Premier League despite receiving a few offers from Germany, most recently from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Should the 26-year-old forward decide to make the switch to Villa Park, he could become the club’s third free signing of the summer after already agreeing moves for Joe Cole and Phillipe Senderos.
He rose from the youth academy into the first team back in 2005 but was constantly loaned out, with spells at Birmingham City, Sunderland, and most recently Juventus.
His time in Italy only saw him make 11 appearances, failing to find the net throughout the season.
