Atletico Madrid are now targeting Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez as they plan to battle with Inter Milan for his signature, Express reports.
Diego Simeone saw two of his front men, Diego Costa and David Villa, leave this summer as he now begins to search for replacements to add to his attack.
United value the Mexican at about £15million and the La Liga champions are considering the move due to the player feeling unsettled at the club after his very limited playing time.
Inter have been suffering the previous season, finishing out of the Champions League and now need to spend in the transfer market.
They have been tracking the 26-year-old in recent months and if his position under Louis van Gaal isn’t in his favour, he could very well consider a move.
Hernandez is currently the fourth choice player, falling behind the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, and Danny Welbeck with his lack of playing time also affecting his international career.
