Barcelona have agreed a straight cash deal to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool, with Alexis Sanchez not willing to be part of the offer, Mirror reports.
The Catalan club have agreed in principle to pay up a club record transfer fee for the Liverpool striker.
It is still unsure what the total fee is, but it is expected that Barca will have to pay no less than £60million in order to sign their target.
Luis Suarez was involved in another controversial bite incident at the World Cup – receiving a four month football ban – and the Spanish giants are hoping his ban would lower Liverpool’s asking price.
However the Merseyside club have stood by their £75million valuation, but would listen if Alexis Sanchez was added to the deal.
Reports claim that both clubs agreed to the inclusion of Sanchez into the offer, but the Chilean star is understood to be favouring a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre met Barcelona transfer guru Raul Sanllehi on Wednesday and it seems Suarez is close to an Anfield exit.
“The talks were productive. There were sensible expectations on both sides. Further talks and discussions are to take place, but nothing has been finalised as of now,” a Liverpool source said.
Negotiations are expected to continue for the next few days, with Suarez possibly named a Barcelona player by next week.
