As Lionel Messi prepares to extend his contact at his current club, the Barcelona star reveals that he wants Argentina team-mate Sergio Aguero to join him in Spain, Daily Mail reports.
The striker is believed to have asked the club to sign his Argentine compatriot as well as offer backup goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto a renewed contract.
The four time Ballon d’Or winner looks to earn about £16.5 million a year with an additional £3 million in bonuses as everything looks set to be agreed upon.
News out of Spain suggest that in additional to his contract negotiations, he wants the preference of a transfer offer for Manchester City star Aguero as well as the contract renewal of Pinto to be met.
The Spanish giants have suffered a disappointing season after losing out on the Copa del Rey to rivals Real Madrid and also going through a major set back as they were knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid, who look to claim the La Liga trophy ahead of them as well.
Messi and his father Jorge is said to have met with club representatives to talk about the contract offer but also hinted that a move for Aguero could be in the team’s best interest.
