Lionel Messi, who is believed to be linked with a huge move to Manchester City due to his current unhappiness at Barcelona, has made his intentions to stay quite clear, Metro reports.

Recent reports have stated that City were preparing a massive £160m bid in order to bring the Argentine superstar to the Etihad, but the move is now seen as pure speculation.

Messi came out to say: “They have said a lot of things during the year.

“Many atrocities have come out, most of them lies. I’m fine.”

In a season filled with injuries, the Barcelona striker still managed to score 36 goals in 37 appearances this season and could even win the Spanish La Liga if his side win their next two matches.

The 26-year-old saw his four consecutive Ballon d’Or haul ended by Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this year and based on performance, the Portuguese attacker could very well win the votes again.

With the 26-year-old not looking to leave the club, Messi himself has urged Barca to sign international strike-partner Sergio Aguero from Manchester City instead.
