Barcelona could sacrifice Alex Song in a swap deal with Chelsea’s David Luiz, a player the Spanish giants have been monitoring for quite some time, TalkSPORT reports.
The former La Liga champions have been making their efforts to sign the Brazilian defender known recently and are looking very likely to negotiate a potential deal during the upcoming transfer window.
However, a £30-million price tag for Luiz has stalled a formal offer and but Barcelona believe they could persuade Jose Mourinho to lower the asking price should they include Song in an exchange deal.
The former Arsenal defensive midfielder has found it very hard to get a starting berth in the star-studded midfield, only appearing in 23 games for his side, ten of them coming from the bench.
Since his move back in 2012, Song’s limited playing time has caused him to want to leave the Camp Nou in search of regular first team football, preferably back in the English Premier League.
