West Ham are close to finalising a deal for Ecuador striker Enner Valencia after he arrived in London yesterday.
The Hammers have already snapped up four impressive summer singings and Valencia is set to become the fifth at the start of next week as he undergoes a medical today.
Co-owners son Jack Sullivan revealed on Twitter that the ‘eagle had landed’ in London and after a superb World Cup for his country, Valencia is set to become the record transfer holder out of Mexico.
Current club Pachuca are set to receive around £12million for their main man whose goalscoring record looks impressive, on paper.
Big, strong and pacey, Valencia will add a new dimension to the Hammers attack with Andy Carroll and Mauro Zarate currently the only half decent first team forwards at the club.
Sullivan junior revealed that the striker arrived in London yesterday, as the East Enders were drawing with Stevenage in the pre-season friendly, with a barrage on tweets keeping fans up to date – maybe not the best idea when a deal isn’t done yet.
