Arsenal have received another transfer blow after having an enquiry for Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi rejected, Metro reports.
According to reports from Sky Italia in Italy, Arsenal have had an enquiry turned down by the Serie A club.
Arsene Wenger was looking to lure the attacking midfielder after a string of impressive performances for Roma, in which Florenzi played an integral part in the club’s second place finish.
With Roma also returning to the Champions League, they highly value the 23-year-old in order to challenge on all fronts next season.
The Gunners could lose Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta during the summer, and are currently in the market for a suitable replacement.
Florenzi had a solid campaign last season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in Serie A.
His performances were however unable to earn him a call into Cesar Prandelli’s Italy squad, in which the Azzurri were knocked out in the group stages.
