Barcelona right back Daniel Alves believes that Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster would be perfect to replace Victor Valdes at the Nou Camp, as reported by the Daily Record.

Forster put in a stunning display once again against the Spanish champions in midweek despite Barcelona coming away with a 1-0 victory in the Champions League.

The 25 year old was also the hero of Celtic’s victory over the Catalan club last season and is in the England squad for crucial qualifiers next week.

Many have called for Forster to replace the inconsistent Hart for those international games but Alves has looked further into the future, claiming that Forster could replace Victor Valdes at the Nou Camp.

“Only the club can answer how accurate the reports are on the interest in Forster but if they are true it doesn’t surprise me” Alves said.

“We have played Celtic three times in a year now and each time Forster has been fantastic.

“He has had to deal with the best attacking players in the world and each time he has done very well – even in the games Celtic lost.

“Barcelona are a club that are always looking to add quality and it’s clear Forster has real quality.

“Obviously no transfers can be done at the moment – but if it is a deal that ever happens then he’d be a good addition.”
