Sao Paulo are the latest club to declare an interest in signing Paris Saint Germain winger Lucas Moura on loan in January, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Brazilian’s vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has openly admitted that they are trying to take the winger back to Sao Paulo this winter, but a deal is far from being done.
Lucas has told his former club that he is happy to stay in the French capital despite not being a regular starter for PSG this season.
With a home World Cup just over six months away, Lucas is desperate to earn a place in the squad and staying at the top of the European game will only aid that.
Sao Paulo are hoping to tie up a deal but the players preference is a stumbling block at the moment, however Liverpool may have a better chance of nabbing the winger on loan.
“It’s obvious that we want him to return and we had opportunities to talk with his agent two weeks ago, but he said that it’s hard because Lucas wants to stay,” Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes told Lancenet.
“If he wants to return to Brazil, he will come to Sao Paulo. But considering the information we have, it’s very hard.”
