A recent spat between Dortmund’s Marco Reus and Roman Weidenfeller has alerted Manchester United manager David Moyes to take action, Daily Mail reports.
Reus has been a target of Moyes for some time, but it was always going to be difficult to lure the German star to Old Trafford.
However the 24-year-old is evidently frustrated in Dormund and could see the move as a valid option.
Dortmund goalkeeper blasted Reus on what is said to be a ‘tactical direction’ on his lack of concentration when the player was asked to come back to defend during the club’s German Cup tie against Wolfsburg.
Jurgen Klopp however admitted that it was more than a ‘tactical direction’, as he was forced to come between the two players who were involved in the conflict.
“Marco has been at an amazing level for the last three weeks, at the end he just didn’t have any oxygen left”, Klopp said.
However, club captain Sebastian Kehl told the media that there was no conflict with the pair and are getting along very well with one another.
Reus is now one of the main Bundesliga targets for the United manager as another Dortmund target, Ilkay Gundogan, recently signed a contract to keep him at the club until 2016.
Moyes will surely need to take advantage of this situation if he is to acquire the services of the highly rated midfielder.
