Burnley are set to name former Watford manager Sean Dyche as Eddie Howe's replacement, according to Sky Sports.

Dyche has been out of management since his contract at Watford was terminated in the summer following a change of ownership at Vicarage Road.

And Burnley are expected to name Dyche as their new manager after Howe left to join League One side Bournemouth earlier this month.

Dyche guided Watford to their highest Championship finish for four years as they finished 11th last season, but was replaced by former West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola after the Pozzo family secured ownership of the club.

Since leavingWatford, Dyche had taken up a temporary role in the England U21 backroom staff last month but is expected to leave that post to fully concentrate on his new role at Turf Moor.

The Clarets are currently 14th in the Championship and are five points off the play-off places after 13 games and have had youth coach Terry Pashley take control of first team affairs as caretaker manager while they searched for the right man to replace Howe.
