The first Capital One Cup semi-final of the New Year pits Sunderland v Manchester United at the Stadium of Light in what looks set to be an action-packed first leg.

Having shocked Chelsea in Round 5 thanks to an extra time winner from Ki Sung-Yueng, the Black Cats will be looking to take another sizeable scalp when Man Utd come to visit and will fancy their chances considering United’s recent dip in form.

David Moyes’s side have shown some strong form throughout the competition so far, beating the likes of Liverpool, Norwich and Stoke but will be wary of Sunderland following that win over Mourinho’s men.

The key players to watch for Sunderland will be that man Ki as well as Fabio Borini and Sebastien Larssen. For United, Danny Welbeck has shown strong form in the competition so far, as well as Ashley Young who has returned to great effect for the Manchester side.
