Norwich for striker Gary Hooper.

The front-man is a long-term target of the Canaries and has been attracting interest from Tottenham in recent times,

The East Anglians £5m offer for his services last week was turned down, but they came back with a slightly increased sum.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that this refreshed bid has been rebuffed and that it will take a much larger offer to make the Scots reconsider their stance:

“It was nowhere near six million. It was completely rejected and even if it was six million it would be completely rejected.” He is quoted by Sky Sports.

The Premier League duo are believed to be highly interested in the front-man, who has hit 20 goals this season, and could return with an improved bid.

Celtic may be forced to reluctantly accept, with contract negotiations between Hooper and the club stalling.

Lennon revealed a contract offer is still on the table and that he believes the 24-year-old will not be on the move this month:

“I’m pretty sure Gary will be a Celtic player come February 1. We have had private chats and he is really happy here. He wants to stay, he wants to see out the season, and we will have a look at the situation then.

“We feel it’s a very good offer. It would put him in the top two or three highest-paid players at the club. I’m sure he wants to be the highest paid but you can’t always get what you want.”

Spurs has been linked with every Tom, Dick and Harry by the low class press and I wont be at all surprised if Spurs so called interest in Hooper is another made up bit of BS.
