Real Madrid have beaten Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United in the move for Radamel Falcao, Express reports.
Reports from Spain are claiming that a deal to take the Monaco striker back to Madrid – where he played for two years at Atletico Madrid – is completed and will be officially announced at the end of the World Cup.
Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United were all linked with the Colombian star, but is keen to return to Spain after his unsettling spell at Monaco.
This will also be welcome news for Liverpool, as the Reds are still looking to keep star striker Luis Suarez despite his latest biting controversy.
Yet with the possibility that Suarez could face a lengthy ban, Liverpool could decide that his actions have caused the club disgrace one time too many, which could see Suarez leave Anfield.
Barcelona is the other club interested in bringing over the 27-year-old and could submit a bid in the near future.
However with the loss of Falcao, Monaco will aim to find a replacement, putting several Premier League clubs on guard.
Falcao has not been involved with Colombia in the summer’s World Cup, recovering from a knee ligament injury he sustained back in January.
