Jose Mourinho has played down any speculation linking Ramires to Real Madrid after the Spanish club declared their interest for the Brazilian star, Daily Star reports.
Carlo Ancelotti, who signed Ramires during his time at Chelsea back in 2010, is believed to be ready to lure the defensive midfielder to Spain.
The Madrid coach made a request to club owner Florentino Perez with the intent of bringing the Blues player along with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez to the Bernabeu.
Mourinho is however unwilling to sell Ancelotti’s transfer target, because of the departure of David Luiz to PSG and his decision not to renew Frank Lampard’s contract.
Ramires arrived from Benfica for £17 million and has concreted a strong place in the squad, making 196 appearances with a contract which ends in 2017.
The English club are keen on keeping their remaining set of players as they prepare in new intake of members.
Diego Costa’s £32 million move from Atletico Madrid looks set to be completed, while former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas could soon follow the Spanish striker to Stamford Bridge.
