Mourinho’s side thumped Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday thanks to an 18 minute Andre Schurrle hat-trick which extended their lead at the top of the table to four points from Arsenal and Liverpool.
City are a further two points back but have two games in hand on their rivals now, with the Capital One Cup final taking their attention this weekend.
Mourinho has been playing mind games all season with the likes of Manuel Pellegrini and Arsene Wenger and it seems to be continuing with the Blues boss making City title favourites still.
“The gap to Man City is a fake advantage. If they win their [two] games in hand, they’re top,” Mourinho said.
“The second half was a great reaction to the worst performance of the season.
“The players knew the first half was really poor. I haven’t had many first halves like this one – it was very bad.”
