The Gunners travel to Stamford Bridge this lunchtime in a huge game for both sides with the title race really heating up after some interesting results last week.
Mourinho has attempted his usual mind games with Wenger at times this season, to some effect, but the smokescreen was lifted when the Portuguese boss spoke to the media yesterday about Wenger reaching 1,000 games in charge.
The Blues boss admitted that he would love to achieve as many games in charge as Wenger has but doesn’t feel he will.
“I admire him and admire Arsenal,” adds Mourinho.
“Because it is not possible to have 1,000 matches unless the club is also a fantastic club in the way they support their manager, especially in the bad moments and especially when the bad moments were quite a lot.
“The tribute is to say that any one of us managers would love to have the same privilege with our clubs. Could I stay for 1,000 games? I would like to, but it’s very difficult.
“It’s even more difficult in modern football. If I can reach 500 with Chelsea it would be fantastic.”
