After adding the likes of Willian and Samuel Eto’o to the squad last summer and then Mohamed Salah and Nemanja Matic in January, Mourinho is set to wade in again this summer with Diego Costa his number one target.
Atletico Madrid are demanding around £50million for their main man and Mourinho is confident Chelsea can find that sort of money for a number of players.
The Blues have fallen behind in the title race and are underdogs to progress in the Champions League, leaving the Blues boss to spend again to improve the squad.
“I think Chelsea can do that,” Mourinho said.
“I think Chelsea can’t do that with four or five players and bring in the investment for £200m or £250m, but Chelsea can do that with one player.
“That is the work Chelsea is doing and I think that’s possible for Chelsea, yes.”
Chelsea host Stoke today and defeat would make it three losses in seven days for Mourinho’s men.
