Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho brushed aside rumours that the Blues are set to make another bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this month, as reported by Sky Sports.

United turned down a sizable bid from Chelsea in the summer and Rooney has since thrived in a side that is struggling to find any real form.

The England man is currently on holiday and will not face Swansea tonight, but the 28 year old could return against Chelsea next week.

Mourinho was not willing to discuss Rooney, so obviously he went on to discuss Rooney, and the Blues boss says the ball is in United’s court now although money has not been discussed.

“I don’t want to speak about it,” Mourinho said.

“We play Man United in a few days. I don’t think it’s nice to speak about a Man United player.

“You have to ask him (Rooney). You have to ask the player.

“And Man United because Man United has a contract with the player that doesn’t end at the end of the season.”
