The Blues boss has said all along that his side are the underdogs for the title this season with Arsenal spending most of the season at the top of the table and City’s squad being superior.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini hit back yesterday by declaring that Chelsea should be top of the table because of the money they have spent, however Mourinho is sticking to his guns.
The Portuguese boss believes that if Arsenal and City played at their peak, it would be a two horse race for the title.
“We are beginning. We are there because we’re doing very well, or because City or Arsenal are not doing as well as they should with the condition they have,” Mourinho said.
“We don’t put ourselves at the same level as them. Do we dream about winning the Premier League? Of course. If not, we wouldn’t play.”
‘When we lost two points against West Ham, many people were saying we had no attacking power to win every match, and to win the Premier League, and to compete against teams that score goals and goals and goals and goals.
“Just because we won against Man City, people are changing their opinion.”
