Chelsea have completed the signing of Chilean whizkid Christian Cuevas this week.
After a successful trial with the Blues in November the 17 year old winger completed a deal this week worth £1.7million. The Chilean will see out the rest of the season with O’Higgins and join the London club after the U-20 World cup in July, according to The Mirror.
Christian Cuevas is one of the most sought-after talents and was very impressive for Chile in the South American U-20’s Championship last month.
Chelsea have been watching the youngster for two years and are very happy that they have completed the deal. Cuevas is also looking forward to joining the Blues and confirmed the deal to Radio Cooperativa.
“Everything went very quickly and everything was settled this week,”
“Chelsea were following me for over a year and we have finally reached an agreement.
“I am already taking English classes so I can integrate quickly. It will be a big change. I could account for all the differences there were when I was there. But I am calm and very happy.”
Chelsea have also told on loan Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeru that he will be recalled from Dutch club Den Haag and will be playing in the first team next season.
