Liverpool and Chelsea have been given a massive boost in their respective pursuits of Hellas Verona’s Jorginho, after the player’s agent admitted that his client could move in the coming weeks.

The Reds and the Blues have both been linked with the Brazilian-born midfielder in recent months after being impressed with his start to the season with his newly promoted Serie A side.

Jorginho has been a key man in the minnows’ miraculous rise up the table, which currently sees them occupy fifth spot after 18 games – putting them ahead of more glamorous names such as Inter Milan and Lazio.

Several other sides are interested in the creative ace, and his agent, Joao Santos, says that a “great offer” could be enough to secure his client’s signature:

“He can leave Verona now if he receives a great offer – if an important proposal arrives it is fair that the player is allowed to leave,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.

However, he went on to hint that Napoli are currently leading the chase:

“In Italy there are three or four teams who can pay for him and Napoli is one of them.

“Napoli is one of the most important clubs in Italy. If Napoli want him they should talk with Verona, who play their next match against the Blues. Now Jorginho is focused on the team and does not think about the transfer market.”
