AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a season-long loan after the capture of another Blue in Fernando Torres, Goal.com reports.
The Serie A giants were targeting a striker and a midfielder in recent weeks, and have filled both roles with a double Chelsea swoop.
Van Ginkel had a turbulent first year at Stamford Bridge, plagued by a serious injury and after the captures of Nemanja Matic in January and Cesc Fabregas this summer, the Dutchman is way behind in the midfield pecking order.
It has been reported the former Vitesse starlet will play at the San Siro on a season-long loan deal, but specifics have yet to be announced.
The 21-year-old follows Torres in making the switch to Milan, with the Spaniard seen in the San Siro stands as Filippo Inzaghi’s side won their season opener 3-1 against Lazio.
Torres also joins the seven-time European champions on loan, but in a two-year deal.
