Chelsea starlet Kurt Zouma recently returned from a loan spell at St Etienne but is not keen on another loan move as he prepares to fight for a place in the first team, Daily Star reports.
The 19-year-old is once again being linked with another spell away from Stamford Bridge with Monaco and Sunderland both interested in the young defender.
Jose Mourinho also hinted that he won’t be willing to risk playing him too too early as he believed Zouma is not yet ready for a starting role in the heart of defence.
The French player revealed that he already told the Blues boss that he wants to earn a place in the squad by remaining in London.
He said: “Yes (we spoke) a little, he (Mourinho) told me hello, welcome and said, are you ready?
“I told him, yes. I am very excited, I am very happy to come to the club.
“He’s the best manager in the world and I’m so happy to be able to work with him.
“Initially it will be a period of adaptation but I hope I can improve as a player, get into the team and just play as many matches as possible.”
