Chelsea are preparing to tie Antonio Conte down to a new deal and are confident he will not leave to join Inter Milan this summer, The Daily Mirror reports.

What's the word?

After taking the Premier League by storm this season, Chelsea have seen their manager Antonio Conte become one of the most in-demand managers in world football- and Italian giants Inter Milan are keen to bring him back to the Serie A.

Chelsea remain confident of keeping Conte, who is tied down until 2018 on a £6.5m-a-year deal, but mega-rich Inter Milan are ready to offer the former Juventus boss £10m-a-year to move to the San Siro- as they see Conte as the ideal man to lead their renaissance.

However, the Blues are ready to fend-off any interest from rival clubs in Conte's services by offering him a new year- and Conte has certainly proved he is worthy of a bumper deal, having led Chelsea tremendously this season.

What will Chelsea offer?

Chelsea's initial offer to Conte when he arrived last summer was a two-year deal worth around £13m overall but, following his fantastic maiden campaign in English football, the Blues will be ready to improve that figure.

As Conte has less than 18 months to run on his initial deal, Chelsea have always been expected to extend Conte's deal, as long as he performed, and the Blues are confident he will agree new terms- as his family is set to join him in London this summer.

Conte's deal may not necessarily be as much as Inter's mega-rich Chinese owners are offering, and the Blues' budget for the summer transfer window may not be as much as the Italian side, but Conte is unlikely to walk away- barring any dramatic fall-outs.

With Inter Milan also struggling to secure Champions League football, and boasting a huge rivalry with Conte's former side Juventus, it was always unlikely that Conte would return to his homeland.
