Chelsea are considering a move for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy if they cannot complete Mattia Destro’s £20million switch to Stamford Bridge, Express reports.
£50m striker Fernando Torres is close to leaving the Blues after representatives from Milan arrived in London to discuss his transfer, and now Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is already eyeing an adequate replacement.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with Roma’s Mattia Destro, with reports suggesting the London club have offered £20million for his services.
But if negotiations do not come to fruition, then QPR ace Loic Remy is next in line.
The French striker was close to a move to Liverpool earlier in the summer, but a failed medical saw the deal collapse right at the very end.
Remy has a buy-out clause of £8.5million for teams in the Champions League, making him a very suitable option before the close of the transfer window.
The 27-year-old has also been targeted by Arsenal after scoring 14 goals in 27 appearances while on loan at Newcastle United last season.
