Chelsea are planning to offer Eden Hazard a bumper new contract in their attempts to ward off interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Daily Mail reports.
The Belgian international is set to receive a substantial pay-rise amid his transfer link with Ligue-1 champions PSG.
PSG manager Laurent Blanc is an avid fan of Hazard, having publicly spoken about his intent to bring the Chelsea attacker to Parc des Princes next season.
It is speculated that the 23-year-old’s agents have begun discreet talks with PSG officials, forcing Chelsea to jump into action.
The London club will attempt to fend off interest from France by upgrading his current £170,000-a-week deal nearer to the region of £200,000.
The Blues hierarchy are however hoping that a statement of intent to extend his terms is sufficient, as Hazard still has three years on his current deal.
Chlesea have even awarded Hazard the number 10 shirt, a number he desires.
Despite this, PSG are reportedly plotting a mega £61million offer for the former Lille star with the belief that a large enough offer will sway Chelsea’s decision in keeping their prized asset.
