Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he regrets not being able to play with Luis Suarez at Barcelona, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.

Suarez only joined the Catalans from Liverpool during the summer of 2014, but the attacker was instrumental to Barca’s successful campaign last term.

His arrival at the Nou Camp overlapped Fabregas’ move to the Blues, meaning that the Spaniard didn’t get the opportunity to play alongside the former Reds icon.

The Uruguay international went on to form a brilliant partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar in a three-pronged attack, helping Luis Enrique’s side to an amazing treble.

And Fabregas is feeling the regret of not being a part of the squad, despite winning the Premier League with the Blues last season.

"Barcelona have fantastic players," he told Goal.

"The three in attack decide matches, even though the best of them all is missing at the moment - and that's Leo Messi.

"But Neymar has taken a step forward and Luis Suarez is... I wish I had played with him at Barcelona because he is a striker with whom I would have had a phenomenal understanding.

"The rest, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and also the defence, which is practically the same [as when I was there], they have a very high level."

However, the 28-year-old claims that moving to Chelsea was the right choice, but he will always be a follower of Barcelona.

He added: "Of course I still follow them. The Clasico on November 21 is the greatest match that exists in today's football.

"In a year and a half, I have missed a maximum of seven games.

"A lot happens in football and you have to accept the things that happen in the moment they happen.

"Once the decision has been made, there is no point looking back."

The former Arsenal star isn’t having the best season with the Blues this term, scoring just one goal in 17 games.
