Chelsea’s David Luiz could become a Paris Saint Germain player in as soon as 48 hours, after a record transfer fee was agreed in a deal that would make him the most expensive defender in the world, Daily Mail reports.
The French giant are rumoured to be spending up to £50million to bring the Brazilian defender to Paris, smashing the two previous transfer fees spent on a defender, one which belongs to PSG after their previous purchase of Marquinhos and Thiago Silva.
When the potential deal becomes confirmed, the Parisian club will be asking Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari for permission to fly their medical staff to perform a medical.
Luiz is believed to be one of the very best defenders in the world due to his versatility and style of play, as PSG show their financial strength by meeting the huge fee slapped on by the London club.
Sources out of the club state that they had to swiftly follow through on the deal because of interest from other top European clubs such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
PSG are attempting to ward of all other offers by setting a high transfer fee, believing £50million would be enough.
