Chelsea defender John Terry is set to earn a one year contract extension at Stamford Bridge, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The Blues are set to offer their long serving captain with a new one year contract after the 33 year old impressed Jose Mourinho this season.

Chelsea have a policy of offering players over the age of 30 just one year deals and Terry, along with left back Ashley Cole, is set to be one of them.

Frank Lampard on the other hand may not get the deal he is after and is slipping into the final six months of his current deal, leaving him with a big decision to make either in January or at the end of the season.

Terry has always been a favourite of Mourinho and the former England captain is once again a regular at the heart of the West Londoners back four, beating off competition from the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
