Mattia’s Destro agent has confirmed that his client is currently in talks with Chelsea as well as AC Milan over a transfer away from Roma, Express reports.
The Italian international has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico all summer after he ended the season as Roma’s top goal-scorer with 13 strikes.
With AC Milan losing star striker Mario Balotelli to Liverpool in a £16million deal, the Serie A club are looking to make Destro his replacement at the San Siro.
Chelsea however are also keen on the striker as they look to offload £50million flop Fernando Torres before the end of the transfer window.
Roma have however put a £20million price-tag on the centre-forward, which could be too high a fee for a back-up striker at Stamford Bridge.
Destro’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, explained his client’s situation: “I cannot deny he is at the centre of some important situations that could develop.
“More Milan or Chelsea? The market is unpredictable. These are two interested clubs.
“Jose Mourinho admires him, while Milan could make some important steps forward very soon.”
Tottenham Hotspur were also keen on the former Siena attacker earlier this summer, but pulled out of the race leaving Milan and Chelsea vying for his signature.
