Thibaut Courtois appears to have taken a sly swipe at his former Chelsea teammates Oscar and John Obi Mikel following the pair's move to the lucrative Chinese Super League.

Clubs from the Far East have poached numerous high-profile players, including Carlos Tevez, and have offered staggering salaries.

For example, 25-year-old Oscar is believed to be earning £400,000 a week at Shanghai SIPG following his £52m transfer at the start of the month, according to the Daily Mail.

Both Oscar and Mikel made the jump to China during the winter window, but Courtois has insisted that he would not be interested as he would rather target trophies than huge pay packets.

It is worth noting, though, that the Chinese Super League are currently not allowed to buy foreign goalkeepers.

Sky Sports quotes Courtois as saying:

"Some players are more concentrated on what they will do after their football career and want to make sure their lives are financially settled. I prefer to play in big teams, earn a little less money and win trophies."

The Belgium international has been a pivotal figure in Chelsea's season so far, having kept 13 clean sheets.

Antonio Conte's men currently reside at the top of the Premier League table, eight points above their closest challengers Arsenal.
