Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo does not want Liverpool’s Luis Suarez to join him at the Bernebeu next season, Express reports.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez are both looking to bring Suarez to the Spanish capital, but Ronaldo does not rate him as highly.
The Ballon D’or winner wants to continue playing alongside Frenchman Karim Benzema, a partnership that helped Real Madrid triumph in the UEFA Champions League last season.
Ronaldo believes that Benzema sacrifices personal glory for the team, creating space for others.
However the Portuguese is not convinced that Suarez will do the same, and with Gareth Bale also in the Madrid lineup, isn’t certain where the Uruguayan will fit in Madrid’s star-studded attack.
Benzema has also claimed he would like to end his career with Real Madrid, blowing Arsenal’s chances of signing the striker.
But in the end, if the Madrid hierarchy sees Suarez as a necessary purchase, Ronaldo and Benzema won’t have much say in the matter.
Ancelotti praised Suarez yesterday, stating: “It is difficult to improve what we have in attack.
“Suarez is a fantastic player but it would be a lack of respect to talk about signings at this stage.”
