Crystal Palace duo Yohan Cabaye and Scott Dan have hit out at Manchester United’s tactics following their 0-0 draw on Saturday, according to reports from the Mirror.

The Red Devils have now finished three successive games with a 0-0 stalemate, causing fans and critics to blast manager Louis van Gaal’s style of play and United heavily backed for further draws in this weekend's football tips.

But, now even their opponents are slamming United and Van Gaal, with Cabaye and Dann not a fan of their new system.

Central midfielder Cabaye was the victim of constant fouling by the Red Devils’ anchormen, and the France international compared the current United squad to that of Sir Alex Ferguson’s.

Cabaye said: “I remember I played against Man United for Newcastle they could score at every moment in a game. Here they did not have the big chances to score. Wayne Rooney had a free-kick in the first half and that was about it.

“Yes, they are a big club and yes, they can keep the ball – passes, passes, passes – but if you work hard against them and stay in a good shape they can’t do anything to pass through you or be adventurous.”

And Dann agreed to Cabaye’s assessment, in which he added: “That’s the way they are set up, they prefer to keep the ball for long periods. They want to keep it away from you. But that means they don’t create as many chances or threaten you as much as they did in the past.

“The quality is still there, so you have to stay on your toes. And rather than come at you like they used to do, they try to move you from side to side and try to wear you down. But they didn’t have too many chances and we should have won.”

United are still however in the top four on the league table in fourth, four points behind league leaders Manchester City at the summit.

But they will now need to focus their attentions on the Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow this Tuesday, with the Russian club travelling to Old Trafford.
