Crystal Palace are looking to take advantage of Norwich City’s relegation to the Championship by signing goalkeeper John Ruddy, according to the Daily Mirror.
Palace boss Tony Pulis is an admirer of the England stopper, however a move would throw the future of Palace veteran Julian Speroni into major doubt.
Speroni has been at Palace since 2004, but is out of contract this summer, and is reportedly interesting Hull City boss Steve Bruce.
Speroni remains a popular figure at Selhurst Park, but Pulis is a big fan of Ruddy, who had an outstanding season at Carrow Road despite the Canaries being relegated to the Championship.
Ruddy was devastated to miss out on a place in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad, and knows he needs to be playing in the Premier League if he is to earn a recall to the England set up.
Norwich will be forced to sell players following their relegation to the Championship, and know they could recoup as much as £5million for the 27-year-old, whose situation is also being monitored by Arsenal, Sunderland, Liverpool and Manchester City.
