Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni is hopeful that he has done enough this season to earn a new contract in the summer, as reported by the South London Press.

The Argentinean has become a club legend at Selhurst Park but his current deal expires next month, leaving his future up in the air despite another fine season between the sticks.

Speroni claimed another Player of the Season award earlier this week at the Eagles’ annual ceremony but is hopeful that today’s appearance against Fulham will not be his last.

Palace signed Wayne Hennessey back in January but Speroni has remained the number one, although he doesn’t know how long that will last.

“It is nice when you get recognised and know people are interested in you,” said Speroni. “It’s a compliment.

“It’s normal in football that when you are doing well there will be interest. It makes me very proud of what I’m doing.

“But I keep saying every time – I want to stay at Crystal Palace.”
